Looking for a Laptop.

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for a laptop in good condition. I'd like it to have Windows XP Home eddition on it, or even just a computer that I can install Windows XP Home on (this means pretty much any computer at all).

What kind of laptop are yo8u looking at, what price range?
www.buy.com and other sites have some older models for very cheap, sometimes around $200, Craigslist probably has a bunch, netbooks are in that $200 range too and are good enough for quite a few things, browsing, word editing, most things you need.
So unless you are looking at rock bottom, sub $100 machines, those may be good places. If you are, expect something you pay that little for to not be too good and possibly break down after little use, for you really get what you pay for that way.

I second his reply. Their are other board topics dealing with this subject as well, but if you post what you want exactly, or your price range, then it will be easier to suggest.

I'm looking for something about $500 or less. I want windows XP Home 32 Bit installed on it,. Any help would be appreciated.

hmm look on e-bay fore older laptops please keep in mind that xp's day of recogning is coming. What I mean there will bee a day where xp is no longer supported but at last just look around and google what your looking fore. If I find something I will post it here fore you as well.

Yeah, I know they don't support XP anymore... The only reason I want the laptop though is to play some games on that do not work on windows 7. I have a windows 7 system right now, it' a desktop. I'm always playing games, so I figured I'd look into getting a laptop.

Be cheaper to upgrade your Windows then to pro. Then you can play the XP games. But in that case just buy any computer, or buy XP and install it on the computer you buy. Amazon still sale XP, so does Dell, but call them and ask for it. It will be supported until 2014.
